The selection of any candidate for admission to Philadelphia Private School is based on academic qualification, good conduct record, and parent's confidence in PPS Statements of Vision, Mission, and Beliefs. Preschool and Grade 1 applicants are admitted on the basis of a qualifying assessment interview. Learners applying to Grades 2-12 are admitted to PPS on the basis of their previous academic achievement as well as the marks obtained on the PPS Assessment Exams. All applying learners and parents are scheduled for an interview with the School Director or Deputy Director.
However, low-scoring learners, or learners needing academic support in certain areas are admitted to PPS if and only if they are high-caliber learners with families who believe in the PPS philosophy and vision. Applicants in this case are given the opportunity to join the free-of-charge Learning Support Program as of Term I.
Learning Difficulties

PPS recognizes that all children are unique and special. We value differences and understand that some children learn differently. PPS unfortunately does not have a Learning Disability Department. We only accept children with learning difficulties who can benefit from our programs. Our admission policy for learners with learning difficulties is simple: if we can help the child we accept him/her.
Parents who stretch their hands out for partnership with school make learning much more feasible for learners with learning difficulties. Therefore, parents whose children have learning difficulties are encouraged to inform the school upfront. An assessment under the supervision of a Learning Difficulties Specialist usually takes place and the results of the assessment are shared with parents.
